چکیده
We propose an alternative approach for the detection of fast neutrons in energy range from 10-4 to 5 MeV based on 10B-RPCs (hybrid double-gap Resistive Plate Chambers with 10B4C neutron converters) surrounded by a polyethylene moderator. The efficiency as function is obtained Monte Carlo simulations performed Geant4 toolkit several detector configurations. thickness converter optimized maximum efficiency. results show that this type it possible obtain average larger than 50% weak dependence energy. dark count rate and gamma sensitivity are also discussed.

A Fast, Robust, Automatic Blink Detector
Introduction “Blink” is defined as closing and opening of the eyes in a small duration of time. In this study, we aimed to introduce a fast, robust, vision-based approach for blink detection. Materials and Methods This approach consists of two steps. In the first step, the subject’s face is localized every second and with the first blink, the system detects the eye’s location and creates an ope...
متن کاملSimulation of a Neutron Detector for Real Time Imaging Applications
Monte Carlo Method is used to simulate a double layer gadolinium-amorphous silicon thermal neutron detector. The detector fabricated in pixel array configuration has various applications including neutron imaging. According to the simulation results, a detector consisting of a gadolinium (Gd) film with thickness of 2-4 ~m, sandwiched properly with two layers of sufficiently thick (-30 ?µm) hydr...
متن کاملImproved Fast Neutron Spectroscopy via Detector Segmentation
Organic scintillators are widely used for fast neutron detection and spectroscopy. Several effects complicate the interpretation of results from detectors based upon these materials. First, fast neutrons will often leave a detector before depositing all of their energy within it. Second, fast neutrons will typically scatter several times within a detector, and there is a non-proportional relati...
متن کاملConstraints on Vesta's elemental composition: Fast neutron measurements by Dawn's gamma ray and neutron detector
Surface composition information from Vesta is reported using fast neutron data collected by the gamma ray and neutron detector on the Dawn spacecraft. After correcting for variations due to hydrogen, fast neutrons show a compositional dynamic range and spatial variability that is consistent with variations in average atomic mass from howardite, eucrite, and diogenite (HED) meteorites. These dat...
